OPERA! in 2005
During the week of the 23rd-30th July the annual OPERA!-Festival will take place in the Beauforthuis in Austerlitz (Zeist, Netherlands) for the third year running.
This exciting festival has its emphasis on young performers and audiences and we are proud that young people up to the age of 98 have been keen audience members!
Just like the last two festivals another major Mozart Opera will be the central production this year, brought to Beauforthuis by the Young London Opera, a company of the most talented young international singers and performers, directed by Matthew Lane and conducted by Stefan Hofkes.
This year it will be Cosi Fan Tute, Mozart's comedy about two sisters, struggling to convince their spouses of their loyalty and containing some of Mozarts most ingenious music.
The intimacy of the opera will go together perfectly with the atmosphere in the Beauforthuis and once more the audience will feel like they are actually part of the action!
But there is so much more, an exciting project called "4-pack-opera", 4 mini operas composed by some of the hottest young composing talents, combined with some of the world's most loved opera scenes, from Purcell to Puccini, workshops for children, masterclasses, and "Opera-cinema".
